The Greenhouse by University of the Arts London (UAL) is a. free, 6-month start-up programme that supports impact-driven business with a focus on physical or digital innovation.
The programme aims to promote and progress diversity in the creative and digital industries whilst developing the potential of local talent and UAL graduates to make tangible difference in the world.
They use The Hub in Peckham as their base offering resources tailored to digital and tech-led start-ups, access to fabrication workshops, prototyping facilities, weekly specialist business development and so much more!
Anyone who is a part of the BAME community, experiences the effects of ableism, Marginalised communities or experiencing poverty, identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and other marginalised genders can apply to the UAL: Greenhouse.
With a programme as generous as the Greenhouse by UAL we knew success stories from the candidates of the programme would be a key part to this video.
The use of drone footage at the beginning of the video helps establish The Hub and its position in the heart of Peckham.
Each interviewee was asked a round of questions from who they are, what they do, UAL’s contribution to their business and how they are planning to pitch their ideas to industry specialist. Compiling each answer into a collection of information on the Greenhouse to display across this events recap video.
It was important to capture not only each business idea but also the people behind them. More importantly, how their culture and adversities seep into their product/service.
