Healthy Living Platform (HLP) make it easy for local communities to lead healthier and more sustainable lives. Their focus is on connecting people through food across neighbourhoods at a hyper local level.
HLP work collaboratively with proactive partnerships centred around food. They deliver community food-based activities in an attempt to bring the community together and seek to understand and help resolve boundaries a community may have to accessing healthy food.
During the Covid-19 lock down, HLP created an ‘everything’ food parcel containing a variety of fruit, vegetables, long-lasting shelf item and sanitary products.
We produced this video in order to inform and educate local residents on the amazing work that HLP are doing. And also informing vulnerable people of their services in the hopes that people can benefit off of them.
Since then, Lambeth Council has partnered with HLP creating the Lambeth Surplus Food Hub. Redistributing surplus food to over 40 community organisations, tackling food insecurity and reducing waste.
